Artist Tara Donovan Wakes Up the Neighbors
11/28/07 at 3:00 PM
Tara Donovan is the latest contemporary artist granted tenure in the Met's Gioconda and Joseph King Gallery (past recipients include Neo Rauch and Kara Walker) to do, well, whatever she damn well pleases. Donovan’s labor-intensive silver Mylar installation, Untitled (Mylar) — part process art, part post-Minimalism — tests the artistic potential of a single material as mundane tools become anything but. Take a look at her process. “Tara Donovan at the Met” will be up through April 2008. —Rachel Wolff
