Artist Urs Fischer Digs His Own Hole

Urs Fischer’s You, currently installed in the West Village’s Gavin Brown gallery, required breaking through the gallery's concrete floors and some hefty, Caterpillar-facilitated mining. Hazardous? Maybe. But impressive, innovative, and fun in a dirty sandbox kind of way. The gallery's apparently not too concerned about reconstruction — if anything, it's an excuse for brand-new floors. —Rachel Wolff
