The Times today attempts to crown a new king of new media in the euphoniously-named Cyriac Roeding, the German-born head of CBS Mobile. Let's leave aside for a moment the awestruck testimonials to Roeding's foresight and preparedness. ("It blew me away," says one phone exec of Roeding's eleventh-hour procurement of cell-phone broadcast rights for Big Brother.) Let's also forget about with the random demi-celebrities who pop up in the article as evidence of CBS's exciting vision of the future. (Ashley Hartman! An animated Danny Bonaduce!) Let's instead focus on writer Laura Holson's description of the 34-year-old Roeding's appearance, which seems held up as an example of his youthfulness and verve:

Mr. Roeding, a former McKinsey consultant who bears a striking resemblance to Cary Elwes in “The Princess Bride,” is undeterred by the challenge, instead overwhelmed by the potential to reach consumers.

A striking resemblance to Cary Elwes? In The Princess Bride?? We beg to differ. We guess they have similar hair. But if this guy interrupted our suicide attempt with a chipper "There's a shortage of perfect breasts in this world, it would be a pity to damage yours," we most certainly would not swoon.
