Insta-classic Super Mario Galaxy beats writers strike woes.

Every few years, Nintendo buffs up the Super Mario franchise with a spiffy new face-lift. But in this radically silly Wii reboot, everyone’s favorite Italian plumber goes … to outer space! Bowser kidnaps Princess Peach (just like back in the Nintendo 64 days), and Mario chases him (and coins! Lots and lots of coins!) through the solar system, running roughshod over tiny planets with very little gravity. And here’s something you won’t remember from the Nintendo 64 days: The two-player version allows people to drop in and out of an ongoing game.
