Red Hot Chili Peppers Get Litigious

Chili Peppers Sue Showtime: Red Hot Chili Peppers have apparently only just recently found out about the Showtime program that shares the name of their album Californication and are now suing the cable network for all profits. Hilariously, the producers of the show — which features a character named after the band's 2006 single "Dani California" — are playing dumb and claiming they stole the title from a bumper sticker. New Walk Hard Trailer: Sadly, the new trailer for Judd Apatow's forthcoming Walk Hard doesn't make it look any better. [/Film]

Reznor Mad: Vulture reader Trent Reznor is mad at his (former) label again, this time because they won't let him post versions of Nine Inch Nails songs remixed by his fans online because it theoretically conflicts with Universal's lawsuits against YouTube and News MySpace. Trent, don't you get it? They'd rather die than give you control! [Nin.com]

Record Labels Probably Doomed: Retailers in the United Kingdom are suggesting that the low sales for digital downloads are due to annoying DRM, which is driving consumers to peer-to-peer networks. Another thing that drives people to peer-to-peer networks: They are free. [Financial Times]

Surprise! DreamWorks is making a Shrek 4. [Moviehole]
