What do buxom beauties, a pastoral settings, and dismembered feet have in common? Jim Shaw, apparently. The artist who brought us this the pun-heavy The Donner Party at P.S.1 this summer is back with a selection of equally enigmatic (not to mention oddly captivating) work. His solo show is up at Chelsea’s Metro Pictures through Saturday. —Rachel Wolff
