“Balls of Fury” made worthwhile by Christopher Walken.
Is this movie stupid? Yes, very! Is its high-stakes ping-pong tournament conceit basically a rehash of Dodgeball and Blades of Glory? Absolutely! So why are we recommending it? Not because of George Lopez or James Hong’s slapstick sensei. Like Click, Domino, and Man on Fire, this poor film is redeemed only by another bizarre, must-see performance from Christopher Walken, whose evil, chinoiserie-clad table-tennis tyrant makes for a master class in camp.
