‘Mamma Mia!’ Trailer: Surf, Sand, and a Sun-Kissed Meryl Streep
Tagline: "Mamma Mia!"
Translation: Mamma Mia!
The verdict: What else do you need to know? If you'd asked us three years ago if we wanted to see a movie adaptation of Mamma Mia!, Broadway's most successful jukebox musical, we would've begged off with lumbago or something. But everything about this trailer seems totally adorable: the Mediterranean locations, the young stars (including The History Boys' Dominic Cooper, who based on a one-second shirtless shot in the trailer might replace Zac Efron on the walls of teen girls everywhere), the three dads, the sun-kissed Meryl Streep. Sure, we would've liked to have seen Streep sing a little more, and it's not as if we're begging to hear every ABBA song again, but on a cold, cold day like this it's nice to get a tiny taste of summer.
