The New York Wave lives! The Gotham-based Coen brothers swept through the New York Film Critics Circle today, winning Best Picture, Director, Screenplay, and Supporting Actor for No Country for Old Men.

The other notable win was for Vulture fave Amy Ryan, whose Supporting Actress win for Gone Baby Gone gives her a clean sweep of the crucial past few days in critics' awards. Of course they loved her in Boston and D.C., but who would have thought that Los Angeles and New York critics would choose the Oscar season's most unfit mother as well? Suddenly Cate Blanchett in I'm Not There doesn't look like such a shoo-in anymore.
