Lots of tears, laughs, cowboys: John Ford DVD set.

  • 12/3/07 at 4:00 PM

We already own the John Wayne–John Ford Film Collection, which compiles all of Ford’s Wayne Westerns, including Stagecoach and The Searchers, but we couldn’t resist this giant grab-bag set: It includes 24 films, from Ford’s 1920 cowboy comedy Just Pals to his gruff, uneven 1952 war movie What Price Glory, starring James Cagney. We’ve got a special affection for Drums Along the Mohawk, maybe the only cowboy-and-Indians flick ever set in upstate New York.
