Alanis Morissette Returns!

1. Alanis Morissette, "Underneath"
American Gladiators is the hottest show on television, and Alanis Morissette is responsible for the best song we've heard all day. It's like 1990s again, but better since the Bills won't be in the Super Bowl. [Wongie's Music World]

2. Paula Abdul, "Cold-Hearted Snake (Degree's Bmore Nice Remix)"
Speaking of the Super Bowl, Paula Abdul will perform at the halftime show. There's no joke here, we just thought it was something you should be aware of. [The Beeb Blog]

3. Coltrane Motion, "How to Be"
Chicago band Coltrane Motion sound like Peter, Bjorn & John, except only half as catchy. Fortunately, that's still plenty good enough to be awesome. [Bag of Songs]

4. Au Revoire Simone, "Through the Backyards"
Au Revoire Simone perform a song from their first album live on PRI's Fair Game last week. The intimacy of the recording session and the delicate dulcimer accompaniment makes this sound like the summer-camp kiss you only wish you'd had in sixth grade. [The Smudge of Ashen Fluff]

5. Lil Mama (feat. Chris Brown and T-Pain), "Shawty Get Loose"
Spare, hooky production mostly just stays out of the way of the teenage phenom-to-be (though that's better than we can say for her guests). This is probably from her upcoming album, Voice of the Young People, which at this rate probably won't get released until after Lil Mama's outgrown her name. [Pitchfork]
