BREAKING: Inevitable Occurs!: Paramount is in discussions with Matt Reeves to helm a sequel to his hit Cloverfield as well as the Hitchcockian thriller The Invisible Woman. Rumors that Cloverfield 2 will consist entirely of a tripod-mounted static shots of scientists and generals discussing the origins of the monster in a control room could not be confirmed at press time. Also: How about some of these cities, Paramount? [Variety]

Everybody Loves Kanye: Kanye West basically locks up the Must-See Event of the Year title by drafting Rihanna, N.E.R.D., and Lupe Fiasco to open for his upcoming Glow in the Dark tour. When this only slightly outsells every other tour in history, West will throw a temper tantrum. [KanyeUniverseCity]

Heigl, Butler Get Ugly: Katherine Heigl stars as a morning-show producer who is reluctantly caught up in a series of outrageous relationship tests administered by her chauvinistic correspondent (Gerard Butler) in Lakeshore’s romantic comedy The Ugly Truth. One more huge romcom opening weekend for Heigl and Reese Witherspoon, by law, will have to surrender her Next Julia Roberts crown. [Variety]

Fishburne Supreme: Former Riveting and Sexy Movie Star Laurence Fishburne completes his metamorphosis into Off-Brand Morgan Freeman by starring in the Broadway production of Thurgood, a one-man show about the life of Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, written by George Stevens, Jr. and set to open in April. [Playbill]

Weinsteins Bring You Cristina: The Weinstein Company nabs North American rights to Cristina, the latest widget off the Woody Allen assembly line, ’cause hey, North Americans should get to see Allen squander the talents of Javier Bardem and Penélope Cruz just like everybody else. [HR]
