In this morning's Times, Kelefa Sanneh bravely reports on Monday's enthusiastically attended show at Irving Plaza by Tokio Hotel, the latest German hair-metal band to capture the imagination of America's teenagers. They've sold 3 million albums in Europe, and Interscope is betting they'll sell a few here (hope springs eternal in the music business, we guess). Sure, they look hilarious and can barely speak English, but the same has been said about Zac Efron and look what happened to him. Is there any reason to believe that these guys won't be bigger than Miley Cyrus? Probably not!
