‘Incredible Hulk’ Director Goes Through the Trailer, Shot by Shot

Not satisfied, apparently, with the traditional director's commentary on a film's DVD release, Universal has sent out The Incredible Hulk's director, Louis Leterrier, to offer a shot-by-shot commentary on the movie's trailer. It's actually pretty interesting, if naturally shilly, and does reveal that any fears that this version of the story — like Ang Lee's 2003 movie — would sacrifice precious minutes of HULK SMASH on boring character development or backstory are baseless. "You’ll see Bruce Banner transform in minute three," Leterrier assures rabid fans, adding that the shot that closes the trailer — of Hulk and Abomination crashing into each other in front of the Apollo Theater — is just the beginning.
The film's climactic fight, Leterrier brags, is "26 minutes of two monsters pummeling each other through New York City, jumping up and down, ripping helicopters from the sky and stuff." That's right! Twenty-six minutes of hot monster-on-monster action, all up and down 125th Street. So rest assured, this'll be yet another movie in which the real loser is poor, stomped-on New York City.
