Is the Justice League Movie in Trouble Again?

It's survived endless delays, one strike-related near-cancellation, and the casting of mostly D-listers, all of whom are becoming even less famous by the minute — but has the Justice League movie finally been scrapped? Australia's Sydney Morning Herald reports that director George Miller's ensemble superhero movie (apparently now called Justice League Mortal, fittingly) has been denied an Australian tax rebate that would've made the film's $200 million budget 40 percent refundable, meaning it will probably not be shot in the country. "A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the Australian film industry is being frittered away because of very lazy thinking," Miller told the paper.

Apparently the rebate was denied because, hilariously, the film — previously titled Justice League of America — isn't Australian enough (it is "an American story that will be performed in American accents," argue its opponents in Australia's Media, Entertainment, and Arts Alliance). Miller is now faced with either moving the production to another country (Canada is apparently a possibility) or replacing Adam Brody with a kangaroo.
