War: What Is it Good For? Awesome Drawings, Says Artist Geneviève Castrée

French Canadian artist Geneviève Castrée's elegantly comic style, as illustrated here on the cover of her book Tout Seul dans la Forêt en Plein Jour, Avez-Vous Peur? (All Alone in the Forest in Broad Daylight, Are You Scared?), makes her one of the only relatively kid-friendly artists working with wartime imagery. Graphic prep for the pending election? Castrée's show of drawings opens at the uptown Adam Baumgold gallery next week.
