Banksy Commits Biggest-Ever Act of Vandalism

Photo: Getty Images

Elusive shit-starting graffiti artist Banksy perpetrated his biggest act of vandalism yet over the weekend, stenciling this scene on the side of a post office in Central London, all under the watchful gaze of a closed-circuit security camera. To avoid being seen by camera or passersby, Banksy erected three stories worth of scaffolding, then removed them on Sunday morning to reveal the painting. The message ("ONE NATION UNDER CCTV") is a statement on the proliferation of surveillance cameras in England, something which all reasonable people are already creeped out by anyway. No word yet on whether the post office will keep the work or if they plan to call in the less-celebrated painter whose job it is to follow Banksy around London cleaning up all his graffiti.
