See Artist David Ellis’s ‘Percussive Cockfight’

Last night, at the new Theory store on Gansevoort Street, Brooklyn-based painter and video artist David Ellis debuted his new performance piece, Hell's Angel vs. DJ RoyOwl, a "percussive cockfight" between a mechanized, Ellis-designed drum sculpture and DJ JTram (playing the role of DJ RoyOwl), dressed in a bird costume made from drinking straws. What does any of this mean? We sent Vulture's Andrew Goldstein and Jonah Green to find out.
