Marcel Dzama’s color palette is so tasteful, his detail so intricate, it wouldn’t be outlandish to imagine translating his fragile images into material — a nice duvet cover, perhaps? Except that, increasingly, Dzama’s subjects are war, greed, anger; his tone macabre even if whimsical. Here, he has filled a diorama with close to 300 ceramic figures, placing faceless, suited hunters amid a backdrop of pretty flowers and bloody heads. This ain’t no fashion show.
