New Kids on the Block Officially Probably Reuniting!

Photo: Time & Life Pictures/Getty Images

After months of intense speculation, turbulent emotions, and several embarrassing pants-wetting episodes at Vulture HQ, nineties teen-pop juggernaut New Kids on the Block have officially announced their impending reunion! Sort of! This Friday, all five surviving members (apparently none are dead) will appear on the Today show — exactly twenty years to the year after the release of their seminal 1988 album Hangin' Tough — to do … something! People says they'll be in Today's courtyard, which is typically used for musical performances. So we hope they'll sing one of their classic singles (and not just some crappy new one which we'll be unable to sing along to), then announce the full details of their reunion tour, album, DVD, action-figure line, and comprehensive health-care package, so we can all commence LOSING OUR FREAKING MINDS!!!

Making this all even more likely is the band's recently updated official Website, which now features a clock counting down the seconds till Friday morning. We swear to God, if this is an April Fools' prank, we might actually die.

(UPDATE: It's official. They're reuniting! OMG!)
