‘Abby’s Alphabet Soup,’ an Instant Kiddie Classic
If you and the kid are among Ralph’s World's legions of fans, you know this one. If, like us, you've always thought, hmm, Ralph Covert … tight band, rocking sound, fun lyrics, but kinda generic, listen up: His new disc has one cut that is not to be missed. It's totally derivative (of Pepper-era Beatles), quite silly, and incredibly brilliant. Turns out oompah is the perfect form for phonics, as in A-A-A-A B-B-B-B.
