Acrobats, Edible Elephants, and the Fantastic Four: Exclusive Excerpt From Eddie Campbell’s New Graphic Novel

  • 7/23/08 at 3:00 PM

Ever since he illustrated Alan Moore's From Hell, Eddie Campbell has been writing and drawing his own increasingly experimental comics, tales in which characters leave the confines of the frame to frolic in the margins, and in which plots unravel in unexpected fashions. His newest book, The Amazing Remarkable Monsieur Leotard, is another inventively surreal trek into the past, following the eponymous hero — the circus acrobat for whom the leotard was named — and his high-wire through the early twentieth century.

The Amazing Remarkable Monsieur Leotard comes out August 5 from First Second Books.
