Photographer Peter Granser Takes an Early Retirement

When photographer Peter Granser made it past the guards at Arizona’s Sun City retirement community, he discovered that its residents were not the shit-smearing, abuse-spouting creatures that The Savages would have us believe, but rather a mellow bunch, here floating as peaceful as babies in the sun. Other retiree activities involve Dunkin’ Donuts and lying in the bedroom side by side. It’s all in pursuit of “The Good Life,” the title of a blissful summer show at Yancey Richardson Gallery through August 22. —Emma Pearse
