Artist Hannah Micley Hits the Snooze Button

This mammoth bed almost rocks like a boat moored in the sun. It's photographed by Hannah Micley and is part of a group show titled "In Our Dreams," at Sasha Wolf Gallery through August 9, in which up-and-comers like Micley hang alongside innovators like Gary Winogrand and Lee Friedlander. In Friedlander's image, an old man has plonked his head on his arm for a nap at his work desk; Micley's dreamer is similarly nonplussed by her exposure. She and the bed are like happy bears in hibernation, hiding from seasonal elements. Who needs summer hours with such exhibits? —Emma Pearse
