NBC Immortalizes ‘30 Rock’ UCB Performance

Remember when the cast of 30 Rock staged a live rendition of an episode at the UCB Theater during the writer’s strike? (SNL started the trend, and Colbert Report hopped on as well.) As far as we’re concerned, it was the only good thing to come out of the writer’s strike. Of course, we weren’t actually there — but awesomely, 30 Rock’s season-two DVD has footage of the entire show. The marketing geniuses over at NBC Universal have made just this tiny clip available so far, and we still can’t resist plugging it. Looks like Tina Fey and co. were running through “Secrets and Lies,” the episode where Liz Lemon tells Tracy Jordan he’s won the fictitious Pacific Rim Emmy Award to keep him from being jealous of Jenna’s award for Mystic Pizza: The Musical: The Movie (in the category of “Best Actress in a Movie Based on a Musical Based on a Movie,” of course.) God, we can’t wait for this show to come back. Click to watch.
