AMPTP to SAG: Talk to the Hand

  • 9/30/08 at 10:16 AM

After months of stalled contract bargaining, the Screen Actors Guild attempted to jump-start negotiations yesterday with a letter addressed to studio executives. That was promptly shot down by the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, which has repeatedly rejected the guild's demands to give its actors a cut of revenue from Internet distribution of their projects. This is the latest setback for the guild, which has been without a contract since the end of June — and members aren't really in the position to strike, given the harsh economic climate in the state of California. Or the state of anywhere, really. [LAT]
