As anticipated, Steve Jobs just announced upgrades for all iPods in Apple's lineup (the Nano has a bigger screen, comes in nine colors, and features a motion sensor so it can tell when you walk past a record store laughing). The biggest news, though, is iTunes 8.0, due out today, which is somehow able to automagically create playlists using an algorithm to analyze the musical structure of songs in your library. The feature, called "Genius," is basically like Pandora or Last.fm except it's contained within the iTunes software, so no one on the Internet will ever know how much you like Olivia Newton John.
