In Alix Pearlstein’s Goldrush, on view at the Kitchen through October 18, a theatrically dressed man plonks down a sheet of foam core and in rushes a crew of men and women dressed in gold shimmering dresses, leather pants, and gaudy high heels. They proceed to ravage the foam core, tearing it apart, stuffing it anywhere they can to keep pieces for themselves, biting and shrieking at each other like a pack of wild coyote. It’s the next best thing to watching All My Children in the afternoon.
