Booze, Brawls, and Lost Love: Read a Complete Story by Neo-Noir Graphic Novelist Tim Lane

Tim Lane's first collection of comics stories, Abandoned Cars, puts its rough-edged characters in desperate straits. They're drunks, loners, lovers, fighters; they wreck cars, wreck lives, and lose their way. The book is a litany of voices from the deep, and Lane's artwork is vivid and hallucinatory. All in all, Abandoned Cars reads like Jim Thompson writing about post-financial-crisis America.
Vulture is proud to present a complete comics story from Abandoned Cars, coming out this month from Fantagraphics.
