‘Hairspray’ Closing On Broadway
Hairspray is the latest long-running, high-profile Broadway production to close in recent months, following Rent and Legally Blonde. The musical, which will end its six-year run in January, will close out with the return of Harvey Fierstein in his Tony-winning role as Edna, which is sparking some speculation that the producers are angling to boost audience demand enough to last through the spring of 2009.
