‘Mad Men’ Picked Up for Third Season — But Matthew Weiner Might Not Be Back?

Awesome, critically loved, Emmy-hording drama Mad Men may draw only 1.5 million viewers per episode, but it's a big hit with advertisers since its audience is usually too drunk to fast-forward past commercials. As such, it's no surprise that AMC has formally exercised its option for a third season of the show. But, according to Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, series creator Matthew Weiner has not yet signed with Lionsgate to return. He's reportedly seeking more money commensurate with his otherworldly genius and is taking meetings with other studios for a possible development deal elsewhere. But, really, who does he think he's kidding? OF COURSE HE'LL BE BACK.
