It’s Not Alive! ‘Young Frankenstein’ to Close in January Too
Last week brought closing announcements for Broadway's American Buffalo and 13, and yesterday Playbill reported that Mel Brooks's Young Frankenstein will close on January 4: "In these uncertain economic times, my partners and I have decided to end our run on Broadway and focus our efforts on the first national tour, which will launch in September 2009," says producer Robert F.X. Sillerman. Sure, blame it on the economy — this never would've happened if they'd hired Cloris Leachman. [Playbill]
