Sesame Workshop, which just relaunched its once-pathetic Website, has announced that Sesame Street will finally, belatedly, and thankfully be available online. Starting soon, Internet-savvy prodigies can download excerpts on YouTube and Hulu — and full recent episodes at iTunes. (At $1.99 an episode, still cheaper than a babysitter.) If ever a show required time-shifting, it's Sesame Street — it's not like toddlers understand appointment television. So why didn't this happen years ago? And why isn't there a dedicated video-on-demand Sesame channel? Can't Maria jury-rig something in the fix-it shop? [Reuters, via Gizmodo]
