The characters in Yuichi Yokoyama's completely unique comic Travel are on a train — of that we can be sure. Nothing else is quite certain for these mysterious men during their dreamy voyage. The train rockets through cities and countryside, rain and snow, even seemingly underwater and through the clouds. And the men watch it all go by, their faces as expressionless as masks. Travel is a book of great beauty and mystery, a wordless text that rewards close attention, and the closest you're probably going to come to an acid trip all day.
On today's Comics Page, Vulture is proud to excerpt Yuichi Yokoyama's Travel, a strange and lovely manga published for the first time in the United States by Picturebox. Travel will be in bookstores in December.
