Brains Explode As Peter Gabriel and Hot Chip Cover Vampire Weekend

Yes, this Peter Gabriel and Hot Chip cover of Vampire Weekend’s “Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa” features Gabriel name-checking himself. (“It feels so unnatural to sing your own name,” he adds, giving the self-reflexive twist of the lyrics an extra turn.) And while that one Being Peter Gabriel moment dominates, Gabriel leads the song with enough conviction to make it worth a few listens. A surprisingly bland Hot Chip, however, bring little more than their best Mannheim Steamroller impersonation. Still, this discarded B-side remains perfectly tailored for the blogosphere.
