Come January, Grease Will No Longer Be the Word

Okay, this is just getting sad. Playbill is now reporting that Grease will close on January 4, joining a long list of shows that we no longer have the strength to type. "Grease has been a staple of theatrical entertainment and pop culture on stage and screen for over 30 years," said producer Nick Scandalios. "In these difficult economic times, the partners have decided to end our run on Broadway and focus our efforts on the first national tour which successfully launched in Providence last night." Eh, we didn't see it anyway. There are worse things they could do. [Playbill]
