According to The Hollywood Reporter, Showtime has picked up David Duchovny–starring series Californication for a third season and ordered twelve episodes to air in late 2009. Showtime president of entertainment Robert Greenblatt explained the show's appeal: "Beneath its veneer of debauchery, however, is a complex take on love and adult relationships that surprisingly turns poetic and romantic just when you least expect it." Also, there's tons of sex. [HR]
