The Carpetbagger Returns

When the clock strikes December and potato-obsessed author-columnist David Carr isn't out on book tours or stiffing Tom Arnold for coke money, you're likely to find him masquerading as the Bagger on the pages of the Times. In this respect, he's sorta like the Punxsutawney Phil of the Oscar season, only more prolific in his forecasting and with a slightly less furry exterior. He's already cranked out five posts this morning on topics as diverse as aspect ratios and whether Noah Emmerich has the hots for Patricia Clarkson, which serves as a great example of why he tends to stand out among his peers in the increasingly circuslike Oscar-blogger camp. Welcome back, Bagger — Vulture's got you bookmarked. [Carpetbagger/NYT]
