How Exactly Did Clint Eastwood Spend Gran Torino’s $35 Million Budget?

We were originally going to use this space to gently mock praise ongoing Vulture target Paul Dergarabedian for convincing the venerable Time magazine to bite on his Gran Torino–related pitch, that is, until we actually read the piece and found out that said film's budget was $35 million! Really? Where could all that money possibly have gone? To fixing up that (admittedly boss) car? To buying 3.5 million cases of Pabst Blue Ribbon? To hiring the world's greatest growling coach? Regardless of where it all went (hint: Clint's pocket), we know one thing that they should have used it for: Auto-Tune. [Time]
