Ticketmaster and Live Nation to Merge?

Because Ticketmaster, the world's largest ticket seller, and Live Nation, the world's largest event promoter, clearly do not have enough of a monopolistic stranglehold on their respective industries, the pair have hilariously decided to merge, forming what will almost certainly be Earth's most obnoxious concert-related megacorporation. Says the Wall Street Journal:

As the two entities further combine their operations, they could begin to offer more packages to consumers such as discounted bundles of tickets and recorded music, and could offer corporate sponsors more attractive terms, too. At the same time, a vertically integrated behemoth could have the power to dictate higher prices.

We wonder which option they'll go with!
