Exclusive Comics Excerpt: Oscar-Nominated Waltz With Bashir in Graphic-novel Form

This weekend, Ari Folman’s Waltz With Bashir has a real shot at winning the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film. The personal story of Folman’s 1982 Lebanon war experience, Bashir would be the first animated movie ever to win in this category, befitting a film that’s broken new ground in animation, autobiographical filmmaking, and war stories. Now Folman and David Polonsky are publishing a graphic-novel edition of Waltz With Bashir, created simultaneously with the making of the film.
