PJ Harvey and an Inflatable Bounce Castle of One’s Own

  • 3/24/09 at 6:30 PM

The video for PJ Harvey and John Parish’s “Black Hearted Love” shows that the true way to enjoy an inflatable bounce castle is not on some sunny carnival grounds, but rather, deep in the dark woods, under pouring rain, with light bulbs exploding around you. And, of course, with Harvey bouncing and singing this scarily intense love song next to you. The first single off the upcoming A Woman a Man Walked Past (Harvey’s first full-length collaboration with Parish, her frequent producer and a solo singer-songwriter, since 1996’s Dance Hall at Louse Point) sounds like something you’d come across on 120 Minutes in the nineties. That is to say, pretty friggin’ great.
