Honestly, we have no idea! We remember that Ted (for those of you who are unfamiliar, he’s the narrator of the show and the guy at right in the screencap) told his children a few seasons back that he met their mother thanks to something a yellow umbrella and, well, there were no yellow umbrellas to be found anywhere in this scene from last night’s episode of How I Met Your Mother. But as avid and longtime viewers of HIMYM, there was something about this elevator encounter between Ted and his co-worker “Maya” that got our Spidey sense tingling. What follows can’t really be considered SPOILER ALERT material because, well, it’s pure speculation, but either way, our rationale for why this might be the titular Mother follows after the jump.
Maybe it was because the scene was pretty long and didn’t really work very hard to advance the plot of last night’s episode, or maybe it was the way that the camera lingered on Maya (played by Aynsley Bubbico) for an extraordinarily long time in what is normally a fast-paced show, but whatever it was, we did some IMDb research on Bubbico and learned … wait for it … that she is scheduled to appear in next week’s episode, too! That’s got to mean something, right?
