Variety editor-in-chief Peter Bart has been given an exciting new meaningless title: "vice-president and editorial director." Taking over in the newsroom will be editor Tim Gray, though Nikki Finke speculates that he may also soon be replaced. The move comes two weeks after Bart ordered three hit pieces on Finke (after he found out that Variety's parent had tried to buy her blog without his knowledge), and following eight years of feuding between Bart and Variety owner Reed Business Information.
