New Transformers Trailer: Bigger, Dumber, Noisier!

New Transformers Trailer: Bigger, Dumber, Noisier!

Tagline: "Fate rarely calls upon us at a moment of our choosing."

Translation: Who, pray tell, could even hear that call with all those giant robots clanking about?

The Verdict: As much as we admire and adore Michael Bay's penchant for pyrotechnics, we're fairly certain the original Transformers was far and away the worst film we've ever seen that ended up grossing over $300 million. But being the naïve souls we are, after seeing the first (and largely wordless) trailer for this July's Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, we've been trying to convince ourselves that this one would somehow be better. Spoiler alert: It's not going to be! Some enterprising bootlegger just uploaded the second trailer to YouTube, and even though the quality of their footage is shite, the quality of the film looks even worse. From the opening, where Bumblebee is doing his best Jessie Spano impression while break-dancing to "I'm So Excited," to the absurd closing of a shot of some giant, sand-sucking vacuum-cleaner robot, we think this film just might redefine the term "mindless entertainment." We'll stick with our toys, thankyouverymuch.

UPDATE (12:20 p.m.): According to YouTube, "This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Paramount Pictures Corporation." You can still see it here, though. (Sorry, not embeddable.)
