Although we were hoping we had finally reached a place where audiences would treat films that feature scenes of the protagonist ejaculating blood with the tolerance they deserve, sadly, Lars Von Trier's Antichrist did not walk away with the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival. Instead, Michael Haneke's The White Ribbon was awarded the Palme d'Or as the fest's best picture. [Variety]
