There was a time when a movie needed to be pointedly critical of a religion to earn itself a hilariously ineffective boycott. But no more — today's Times reports that, thanks to the Internet's facilitation of organizing among crazy people, practically every studio film released this summer will be the target of an unpopular protest!

Terminator Salvation's PG-13 rating has nudity and profanity proponents up in arms. The Soloist was shunned by Miley Cyrus fans upset over comments Jamie Foxx made on a radio show. Some Star Trek fans are urging people not to see J.J. Abrams's reboot unless Paramount donates money to the space program. Even Hugh Jackman's Wolverine and Matthew McConaughey's Ghosts of Girlfriends Past came under fire from the anti-chest lobbyists at Boycott Liberalism.

Yesterday, the Vatican shocked the world by declaring Angels & Demons insufficiently sacrilegious to warrant an official church boycott — though that sort of makes us want to tell all of our friends not to see it.
