Earlier today, rock band Rooney blogged about their appearance in Sofia Coppola's upcoming Somewhere (the lead singer is Coppola's cousin), unwittingly revealing a heretofore-unannounced appearance in the film by smiley actor Benicio Del Toro. Now, Movieline reports that Del Toro's role is but a mere cameo (he has a "brief run-in" with the lead character, played by Stephen Dorff), meaning any potential surprise has now been ruined.
