Sad news to pass along. Autopsy results show that Jay Bennett, the former Wilco band member who passed away last month at age 45, died from an overdose of the prescription painkiller fentanyl. Bennett had been using the drug, which is applied via patches, to treat his chronic hip pain; at the time of his death, he had been trying to raise money so he could get hip-replacement surgery.
