Kanye West Hits Bottom
We’ve always found Kanye West tedious, but with this video for “Street Lights,” he’s really raised his drab game up. The song itself is a dud, of course — Auto-Tuned or not, he’s one of the most limpid singers going, and the beat’s tentative when we suppose it’s meant to be tense. And watching the video, a 3-D animation with a tired eighties-Miami vibe, is akin to waiting for a bashful player to give you a turn at Vice City. We’ve seen more sophisticated flip books. May we suggest you watch this or this instead?
